There's nothing like a Saturday at Greeter Falls with friends. So when Instagram announced that their 13th World Wide Instameet was on Earth Day, we knew what we needed to do. We invited our community to experience a part of our adventures, and people came from all over to hang out at Greeter Falls with us.
Greeter Falls is located in Altamont, TN, and is about a hour and a half away from Nashville. The hike itself is only a mile and a half, consisting of a couple different staircases and a few different waterfalls (Broadtree and Greeter's Upper Falls). There are many different areas to hike around the falls, or you can just do what I did, and soak up the sun in the water (the water was really cold). Either way, you can't go wrong with a trip to Greeter.
The best time to go is during the summer, after a storm. The water levels will be higher, and easier to swim. Be sure to bring swimming shoes, as the bottom of the swimming hole is rocks, and if you feel like doing some cliff jumping, you probably will touch the bottom a bit.
