I remember getting my friend's dad to take us to hardcore shows at The Muse, where we would come home covered in a crowd's community sweat pool. I remember singing at the top of my lungs to Further Seems Forever and coming home like I just had a landmark moment. I remember the moment where everything changed and everyone just stood at shows with their arms crossed judging the performance, seemingly unimpressed. And I remember the moment I met Larry Kloess.
Larry is the founder of Cause A Scene, a Nashville company that is putting the feeling back into shows. There hasn't been a Cause A Scene show where I haven't come home and felt the same feeling back from my youth. Not that I'm in the middle of a mosh pit or singing along, rather in awe, amazed at the raw talent and the intimacy of the performance.
When I first met Larry, I hadn't shot a single concert. I had just picked up a camera a few months prior, and I had no clue what I was doing. But Larry, being Larry, gave me a pass to almost any show to take photos and let me grow my talents.
Now Cause a Scene has been voted one of America's top 50 coolest new businesses by Business Insider and I couldn't be more proud to be part of the community that's causing a scene right here in Nashville, Tennessee.
